Don't mess with us
I actually really like South Africa. I do.
I like my house, my job and there are heaps of cool places to hang out (whether you're looking for funky, arty, rural, metro, beachy, or township).
But statistics tell us that this is one of the most violent places on earth. Which kind of sucks.
Hence the new addition to the Tubman house - now referred to as the Tubman fortress. Not exactly my security measure of choice, but when your boss is paying, you should be thankful, right?
But have you ever felt safe and scared at the same time?

Scotty - I like South Africa too, but that stuff was designed to keep the prisioners in, not the theifs out. Don't start watching Prison Break, you might start tunelling through your floor to get to the local shops.
Have you guys had any security incidents lately?
AH
Have you tested it yet?
AH - next door has numerous times, but so far we've been ok. Although there has been a stabbing with a screwdriver out the front of our place and a period where ladies of the night would ply their trade in the church carpark at our back gate . . .
J - not yet, but the second pic of the tube of death looks like a good initiation rite of passage for kids when they move from sunday school up to youth . . .
